Objective

The student is familiar with the standard cryptographic primitives used to achieve confidentiality and authentication in modern applications. The student understands elementary concepts of number theory and comprehends how they are used in popular asymmetric cryptography primitives. The student can assess the security of modes of operation for block ciphers. The student understands the principles of zero-knowledge protocols. The student can assess the security of key exchange protocols.
