Daniel Kales is currently a second year Ph.D. student in the cryptography group of Institute of Applied Information Processing and Communications (IAIK) at the Technical University of Graz. Prior to this, he completed his BSc and MSc in computer engineering at TU Graz, with a focus on IT-Security. He is advised by Prof. Christian Rechberger.

Research

My research interests include Secure Multiparty Computation, Post-Quantum Signatures from Symmetric-Key Primitives, and Block Ciphers and Hash Functions for use in MPC and Proof Systems.

I teach cryptography as part of several undergraduate and graduate courses:

  • Applied Cryptography (lecture and practicals: winter term)
  • Applied Cryptography 2 (lecture/seminar and practicals: summer term)
  • AK IT-Security 2: Modern Public Key Cryptography (seminar: summer term)
